Alberta Champions 13th Annual Multimedia Contest, Alberta-wide

Alberta Champions is a nonprofit organisation that is dedicated to inspiring Albertans including our youth with the accomplishments of significant Albertans. To that end we have created a contest for students to engage them with individuals in our history.

For their multimedia project, students choose an outstanding Albertan (posthumous).  They research and then create an entry such as a story, essay, poem, art or video to highlight their champion Albertan's impact. Additionally they will illustrate how the champion has inspired the student to make their own strong citizenship contributions to their school and community.

Contest poster, rules, rubrics, past winners and prizes can be found at https://albertachampions.org/2022-student-contest/

Curriculum connections include English Language Arts, Social Studies (Stories, Histories and Peoples of Alberta) and Citizenship.

There are two grade categories, grades 4 to 6 and 7 to 9, and the contest is open to all students. Please share.

Submission deadline: April 11, 2022
