The whole scientific community is invited to participate in this event. This is a great opportunity to take part in a very rewarding scientific day and to meet with some inspiring figures in health research.

Guest of honor 

Fabiola GianottiDr. Fabiola Gianotti, Director-General of CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research

Fabiola Gianotti received her Ph.D. in experimental particle physics from the University of Milano in 1989. Since 1994 she has been a research physicist at CERN and since August 2013 an honorary Professor at the University of Edinburgh. She is also a corresponding associate member of the Italian Academy of Sciences (Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei), the national Academy of Sciences of the United States, the French Academy of Sciences, the Royal Society London, the Royal Academy of Sciences and the Arts of Barcelona and the Royal Irish Academy.

Dr. Gianotti has worked on several CERN experiments and been involved in the work on the detectors: R&D, construction, software development and data analysis.

In 2009, she was elected spokesperson (project leader) of the ATLAS experiment, a position she held until 2013. On July 4, 2012, she presented the results of the Higgs boson experiment at a seminar held at CERN.
