Federal Carbon Pricing and The Energy Innovation & Carbon Dividend Act

Learning Objectives:

Domestic-track students will be able to:

1) describe the technical aspects of the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act;

2) analyze how carbon pricing interacts with existing greenhouse gas mitigation policies and regulations;

3) evaluate how carbon pricing interacts with existing domestic governance institutions.

International-track students will be able to:

1) identify aspects of international trade law which impact the ability of nations to engage in greenhouse gas mitigation policy;

2) use data sets on international trade and fossil fuel extraction to evaluate the effectiveness of international mitigation efforts

3) evaluate the effectiveness of countries greenhouse gas mitigation policies.
