2019 Just Transition Workshop

This document hosts the assigned readings and learning goals for the Climate Policy Camp students within the Just Transition (Labor & Environmental Factors) section.

Learning Objectives:

In the Labor section, students will be able to:

  • identify social and economic challenges facing local communities transitioning to renewable energy systems;

  • identify state policies which support communities transitioning away from fossil fuels and to renewable energy;

  • develop strategies for building a coalition of stakeholders to pass greenhouse gas mitigation policy.

In the Environmental Impacts section, students will be able to:

  • Identify causes and consequences of the disproportionate impacts of air pollution on minority communities;

  • Evaluate greenhouse gas mitigation and other policies which alleviate these differential impacts.
