Larson leads diverse energy research at Climate Central, a non-profit, non-advocacy science communication organization. His recent activities have included assessing climate-friendly cars and methane leakage from the U.S. natural gas system. He also provided the technical analysis of future global warming under alternative energy scenarios was published jointly on the web by Climate Central and CNN in advance of the 2015 Paris climate conference. Larson is also a senior research faculty member at Princeton University’s Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment (http://www.princeton.edu/pei/energy/). His research includes engineering, economic, and policy-related systems analysis of a wide variety of advanced clean-energy technologies and resources. He collaborates with colleagues worldwide and has published over 200 papers. His Ph.D. is in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
