Comment:
As economic, social, and intellectual powerhouses in many communities, higher education has the potential to be a powerful voice in the climate movement. In addition to highlighting the history of climate change engagement within higher education, this panel will present best practices for running a CCL chapter on a college campus, the work of the Oregon Climate Fellows program to engage students in climate advocacy, and internal carbon pricing as a way for universities to lead by example. Overall we will explore how we can empower students, staff, faculty, and administrators in higher education to lead by example and express their voice as engaged constituents, pursuing a diversity of strategies to ensure a future for students.
