Pat MacEwen is a physical anthropologist. She works on human bones from archaeological sites in California and helps identify which Indian tribe they belong to. She has worked on war crimes investigations for the International Criminal Tribunal, after doing CSI work for several years at the Stockton Police Department. Rough Magic, the first novel in her forensic/urban fantasy trilogy, The Fallen, is out from Sky Warrior Publishing. Her second book is The Dragon’s Kiss, which is the first in a Young Adult series about a crippled boy who can’t talk to people, but finds out he can talk to dragons. She writes mystery, horror, science fiction and fantasy, and has published short stories in several magazines and anthologies. She is also working on an anthropology textbook, The Anatomy of Genocide. Her hobbies include exploring cathedrals, bedeviling her nephews, and trawling through history books for the juicy bits.
