Keith Kato has attended Worldcons since 1972, and in 1974 began his famous Chili Party. He has a Ph.D. in physics (author Greg Benford was his advisor), and worked 35+ years in R&D, producing eight patents and numerous scientific papers. Now retired, he consults, and is writing a high school math/physics textbook. Keith helped run the 2007 Heinlein Centennial convention, and served as the 4th president of The Heinlein Society (2014-2018). A martial artist since 1965 in judo and karate, he holds the 6th degree black belt in Shotokan karate. A patron of the arts, in any year Keith sees 40-50 musicals, plays, concerts, and operas. He lives in Alta Loma, California in the U.S., aka “Cucamonga” for all you Jack Benny fans.
