Mikko Rauhala is a bilingual short story author and aspiring novelist from Finland. Informed by his master's degree in intelligent systems, he is most at home in hard science fiction settings, though he's not exclusive and likes to cross genres. Whether the subject is steam powered gnomes or universal quantum suicide, Rauhala enjoys taking an eccentric premise and bringing it to its logical conclusion. As befits a Finn, his plot-driven narrative is often seasoned with a touch of dark, dry humor. Rauhala's short stories have brought him a Finnish Atorox award nomination. His English debut story, The Guardian of Kobayashi, is featured in the anthology Never Stop – Finnish Science Fiction and Fantasy Stories. His debut book, the Infinite Metropolis short story collection co-authored with Edmund Schluessel, came out in 2020. He’s also co-edited the drabble anthology The Self-Inflicted Relative.
