Bio Rik (Richard) Lagarto began his career as a theatre performance director and writer, creating performances fusing text, movement and multimedia. After 12 years Rik moved into game development as a game designer and writer, with companies like The Creative Assembly, Krome and 2K Australia on games such as Medieval 2: Total War, Star Wars Clone Wars: Republic Heroes and most recently Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles. Rik is currently based in Canberra where he teaches game design at Academy of Interactive Entertainment, and creative writing at the University of Canberra. When not doing any of the above, Rik is either working freelance on some secret upcoming game project or writng fantasy, sci-fi and steampunk tales. Rik has had a few short stories published and hopes to one day find a home for his steampunk epic that is taking far too long.
