Democratizing Access to Space: Co-creating a Star Trek Universe

With the democratization of disruptive technologies, the space industry is no longer for big governments and massive aerospace companies. Visions of a future that includes all of humanity as equal contributors to the migration and settlement of the solar system is no longer just in the realm of science fiction, but a reality to be achieved within a decade. However, this opportunity is still not evenly distributed and is vastly dominated by only the nine wealthiest countries in the world. Without changing this paradigm, we are set to create our own dystopian future – an Elysium scenario between the haves and have nots. To even out the unequal growth, the co-creation of a truly sustainable and global space economy is critical to ensure that all of humanity will be part of this journey
