Characters with little or no martial arts training can still be very effective at defending themselves or others when threatened. Science fiction author and 4th Dan karate instructor Sean McMullen takes us through some of the psychology and physiology of physical conflict, and how characters who have never done weights training, stepped into a sparring ring or wielded a weapon can handle confrontation. Participants who want action scenes workshopped should mail them beforehand. To actionscenes@conzealand.nz. People who want a private opinion on their scenes should specify that in the email. No minors - If too many people want opinions on their action scenes I might have to reply later. Child Membership cannot sign up for this particular workshop.
