Isaac Asimov was an author, chemistry professor, and fan who wrote or edited over 400 books. One of the most influential and best-known SF writers, his influence extended well beyond the field. He wrote about everything from dirty jokes and Shakespeare to history and mythology. Looking back from 2020, how did his fiction contribute to the shape of SF? What is the importance of Asimov's nonfiction, and of his role as a celebrity scientist? What was his significance to fandom (positive and negative)? The panel looks at his importance, both positive and negative, to SF.
