Skills Transfer Course (STC)Cornea
Course Description: This STC offers hands-on training in advanced anterior segment surgical techniques, ideal for ophthalmic surgeons looking to refine their advanced anterior segment skills. Participants will practice creating scleral tunnels, performing superficial keratectomy and anterior stromal puncture, suturing corneal lacerations, and executing limbal relaxing incisions for astigmatism correction. Additionally, the course will feature corneal pocket tattooing, useful for reducing dysphotopsias secondary to iris defects or laser peripheral iridotomies. This wet lab provides an invaluable opportunity to master essential microsurgical techniques in a simulated, expert-guided setting.

Learning Objectives
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
1. Demonstrate proficiency in creating scleral tunnels, performing superficial keratectomy, and anterior stromal puncture to manage anterior segment conditions effectively.
2. Apply precise techniques for suturing corneal lacerations and performing limbal relaxing incisions to enhance surgical outcomes and minimize complications.
3. Assess clinical scenarios to determine the appropriate surgical technique based on individual patient pathology, ensuring optimal treatment planning and execution.
