Course Description: In this session, the PREEMPT protocol for Botulinum Toxin A treatment for chronic migraine will be thoroughly reviewed, including the threshold criteria for diagnosing chronic migraine. Participants will also learn about the practical aspects of incorporating this treatment into a busy clinical practice. The instructor will provide hands-on demonstrations of drawing up and administering Botulinum Toxin A, showcasing both the original PREEMPT protocol and the "follow the pain" injection technique.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
1. Identify candidates for botulinum toxin a therapy for chronic migraine.
2. Dilute and draw up botulinum toxin a into syringes for administration.
3. Inject Botulinum Toxin A into a "patient".
