Course Description: This course will consolidate oculoplastic skills central to general practice. Relevant periocular anatomy will be reviewed. Participants will then gain exposure to the following basic and advanced oculoplastic procedures: advanced suturing techniques, eyelid laceration repair, lesion biopsy techniques, canthotomy and cantholysis, the lateral tarsal strip procedure, tarsorrhaphy, lacrimal irrigation and punctoplasty, and basic reconstructive flaps (e.g. Limberg, Hughes, Tenzel).
Learning Objectives
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
1. Describe the surgical management of basic oculoplastic trauma.
2. Describe the surgical correction of involutional eyelid malpositions.
3. Demonstrate core oculoplastic surgical skills entrusted to ophthalmologists
