Ashley Clark is a writer and film programmer from London, now based in New York. He has curated series at BFI Southbank, London (Inside Afrofuturism, April 2014; Black Star, Oct—Dec 2016) and BAMcinématek (Space Is The Place: Afrofuturism on Film, April 2015; Behind the Mask: Bamboozled in Focus, Oct—Nov 2015). Ashley writes about film and culture for The Guardian, VICE, Film Comment and Sight & Sound, among others, and he is a regular guest critic on the BBC's Film show. His first book is Facing Blackness: Media and Minstrelsy in Spike Lee's Bamboozled (The Critical Press, 2015).
