Producer Sigrid Dyekjær has produced over 20 documentary films during the last 16 years. She is the producer of Oscar-nominee Hanna Polak’s Something Better to Come, which had theatrical release in the US and won over 30 awards. For this, Sigrid was nominated at the Producers Guild of America Awards 2016 for Outstanding Producer of Documentary.

Sigrid is now a Producers Guild of America member. She is also the producer of BUGS and Ai Weiwei – The Fake Case by Andreas Johnsen. Ai Weiwei – The Fake Case was released theatrically in the US and was the winner of the Film Critics’ Award in Denmark, the Bodil, and a nominee at IDFA’s feature length competition. BUGS just had its world premiere at Tribeca Film Festival and is invited to over 10 international festivals already, and was picked up by Kino Lorber in Cannes 2016, who will do an all over US theatrical release of the film in 2017. Sigrid is the first co-producer on Ulrich Seidls film, the film SAFARI, which will be premiering later this year. Amongst other renowned titles, she is the producer of The Newsroom – Off The Record by Mikala Krogh (opened Baltic Sea Forum and has been sold to over 7 countries, and will be premiering in China in November 2016), Free the Mind by Phie Ambo (theatrical release in the US), A Normal Life by Mikala Krogh (winner of the Audience Award at CPH:DOX) and she was executive producer on Ballroom Dancer by Christian Bonke and Andreas Koefoed (winner of Nordic Panorama 2012 and Best Documentary Film at Raindance 2012 [UK], and opened Taiwan Film Festival). Additionally The Good Life, The Monastery, Mechanical Love and Cairo Carbage.

Sigrid is one of the most experienced producers in Denmark, when it comes to financing and production of international documentary films. In 2015 she was awarded the Ib Award, given by the Danish Directors Association to honor the best producer in the Danish film industry. Sigrid teaches at the National Film School of Denmark and at DOK Incubator, an initiative supported by Media. She also holds master class lectures at film schools around the world and courses in documentary filmmaking.
