Jack Pettibone Riccobono has produced and directed a wide range of work across the five boroughs of his native New York City and around the world, from Moscow to Shanghai to Freetown. His documentary feature debut The Seventh Fire (2015) premiered at the Berlin Film Festival and was selected to screen at the White House as part of President Obama’s campaign for criminal justice reform. The film intimately explores the influence of gang culture on a Native American community in Minnesota and the way in which cycles of institutional and historical trauma impact life on the reservation. Currently in release by Film Movement, The Seventh Fire received strong critical praise, including a NYTimes Critics’ Pick and a 96% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. A graduate of Harvard College's film production program and Werner Herzog’s Rogue Film School, Jack’s films have been screened internationally at venues including DocumentaMadrid, Cinema Vérité, the Museum of Modern Art, the Institute of Contemporary Art, and the American University in Rome. In 2008, Jack launched the production company All Rites Reserved, dedicated to creating projects with global reach that push visual and conceptual boundaries.
