In this “congressional hearing” style session, festival programmers will deliver insider testimonials that address questions around programmer responsibilities, ethical dilemmas, and festival-defining choices. This year has been especially controversial when it comes to programming decisions, such as Tribeca's Vaxxed dilemma and the role of North Korean censorship in MoMa’s curatorial line-up. This playful and hard-hitting debate will allow programmers to get frank about what it’s like behind the festival curtain; as well as balancing their own responsibilities to their staff, the public, filmmakers, festival constituencies, and their own value system.
