CHRISTINE LA MONTE, director/producer/writer and former film studio marketing executive, is the founder and president of La Monte Productions where projects in various stage of production/development include VIVA VERDI!, a feature documentary filmed in Milan, Italy that she is producing/writing, currently in postproduction; JUSTICE DEFERRED a film based on the critically acclaimed legal thriller, by Len Williams; and THE OTHER SIDE OF 90, a documentary that she is directing, writing and producing. She produced the award-winning short film, DANDELION DHARMA; the Gary Goldstein scripted play, “Three Grooms & A Bride” at the Coast Playhouse in Los Angeles, and was a producer of the syndicated television talk show, "Marilou" starring Marilu Henner. Her directing credits include the Screen Actors Guild’s “A Heart United” with Sharon Lawrence and Jo Beth Williams, and “The Angina Monologues” with Brenda Strong and Eric Close. Previously, La Monte served as President of Orion Pictures where she played a key role in the marketing campaigns of DANCES WITH WOLVES and THE SILENCES OF THE LAMBS which garnered unprecedented back-to-back Oscar sweeps.  Prior to Orion, La Monte served as Executive, Corporate and Media Relations for New Zealand's TV3, was Director of East Coast Publicity for Walt Disney and Touchstone Pictures, and spent five years with Universal Pictures in marketing and publicity in New York. She's a past EVP of the Motion Picture Group at R&C, and founded her own strategic marketing company, La Monte & Company, representing among other notable companies the famed Italian studio, CineCittà where she worked in Rome. A Contributing Editor of Musée Magazine, a digital avant-garde photography magazine, La Monte, is a member of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences where she is on the Executive Committee of the Student Academy Awards; the Academy of Television Arts; as well as the AWD - Alliance of Women Directors. As a past faculty member of New York's School of Visual Arts, she initiated The Dusty Awards, an on-going annual film festival/award ceremony of student short films recently celebrating its 27th anniversary; she has guest-lectured at UCLA and USC. La Monte is on the University's Dean's Advisory Council at the University of Buffalo where she received a BA in French, and served as Producer and Workshop Presenter of UB and Variety's UBC2C HOLLYWOOD, an entertainment and media symposium for aspiring filmmakers.  A past board member of the LA Ballet and Events of the Heart, she divides her time between Los Angeles and Rome with her author husband, Len Williams.
