Dana Forsberg work’s central theme is empowerment of young women in underrepresented communities. Before working on her graduate studies, Dana conceived, developed and implemented an educational photography project titled India through Girls Eyes: Empowering Village Girls with Cameras to help their families see value in educating their daughters.  Dana received her BFA in Photography from the University of Colorado at Denver and an MA degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Her food justice film Growing People has screened at multiple festivals including the L.A. Asian Pacific Film Festival, Hot Docs and was awarded Best Short Documentary at the Santa Cruz Film Festival.  

Her artwork has been featured in the TV series Lost, exhibited at the Denver International Airport, The Contemporary Museum in Honolulu Hawaii, and the Incheon Art , Cultural Center in Incheon, Korea, Redline Art Center and The Arvada Center for the Art and Humanities.  Dana’s work has been featured in Korea Daily, Artweek, the Honolulu Star Bulletin, Honolulu Magazine, and the Denver Post, among others, and is in private and corporate collections in the United States, Japan and Europe.
