Ken Jacobson is a Documentary Film and Virtual Reality Programmer for the Minneapolis St. Paul International Film Festival and VR and Forum Programmer for AFI DOCS Film Festival. From 2013 - 2016, he served as Director of Educational Programs and Strategic Partnerships at the International Documentary Association (IDA). At IDA, Jacobson oversaw all educational programs and served as Director of Programming of the 2016 Getting Real Documentary Film Conference. 


Jacobson has been a leading contributor to the documentary sustainability effort. He was a major contributor to the The State of the Documentary Field: 2016 Survey of Documentary Industry Members that sparked vigorous discussions at Getting Real and formed the foundation for the 2017 NEA/IDA Documentary Sustainability Summit. Jacobson is Contributing Editor at Documentary Magazine; his most recent article for Documentary, a major overview of the documentary sustainability movement, will appear as the cover story for the summer 2018 issue.
