Carole Morison is a poultry farmer from Pocomoke City, Maryland. She was featured in the Oscar-nominated documentary Food, Inc. to shed light on the effects of over-industrialized chicken farms under contract with international corporations. Despite fear of retaliation and the risk of losing her own contract with Perdue Farms, Carole spoke out when no other farmer in the area would to help other poultry workers. Following her appearance in Food Inc., Carole now works to spread awareness about the consequences of using antibiotics and the negative impacts on communities from the concentrated industrialized production in the poultry industry, as well as the benefits of local small scale food production.
