After 15 years producing (as well as doing sound, editing and distribution) for director Les Blank, Chris Simon founded her own documentary production company, Sageland Media. She directed and produced (along with Maureen Gosling), as well as being Directer of Photography, THIS AIN’T NO MOUSE MUSIC, on the life and legacy of American roots music record producer, Chris Strachwitz. The feature doc premiered at SXSW and won Top Audience Awards at Hot Docs and the Mill Valley Film Festival. Some of her films include: MY CANYONLANDS, DOWN AN OLD ROAD, I HEAR WHAT YOU SEE, GAP-TOOTHED WOMEN (with Blank) and HOMESTEADERS - POOR & DRY. She is currently working on four documentaries including NEFERTITI & ME, a personal mystery involving the bust of Nefertiti, Hitler, and her family. Stay tuned!
