Kelly Amis
Producer, Director & Editor
Loudspeaker Films
Kelly Amis started out as a teacher in South Central, Los Angeles. What she witnessed there sparked a passion for social justice and race equality that motivated her to earn an M.A. in Education Policy from Stanford University, perform research as a Fulbright Scholar in Australia, and work on Capitol Hill for U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein. In 2010, Kelly founded Loudspeaker Films to combine her passion for social justice with her love of art and strong belief in the power of film. The short films in her documentary series TEACHED have won numerous awards from international festivals including Napa, Harlem, Houston World Fest, Humboldt, Williamsburg and (In)Justice for All. She is currently working on her first feature-length documentary film on location in Oakland, CA.
