
Jannat Gargi
JANNAT GARGI is the Head of Documentary Films for Paul
G. Allen’s Vulcan Productions, producing and managing a suite of films and
series including Academy Award nominated Body Team 12, Sundance Award winning
STEP, Emmy nominated Naledi: A Baby Elephant’s Tale, Ballet Now, Ghost Fleet,
and the award winning digital series WeTheEconomy. In her work as an
independent producer, Gargi Co-Executive Produced Academy Award nominated Knife
Skills, and Produced Emmy nominated feature documentary CIRCO.
Prior to joining Vulcan Productions in 2014, Gargi served as Vice President of Alpha Cine Labs for over a decade, helping grow a boutique film lab into one of the premiere independent film labs in the country. She supported the theatrical release and post-finishing of many notable films including: Beasts of the Southern Wild, Waste Land, Born Into Brothels, Taxi to the Dark Side, Jesus Camp, Iraq in Fragments, Trouble the Water, Crude, My Country, My Country, Waste Land, Street Fight, Page One: Inside the New York Times, The Most Dangerous Man in America: Daniel Ellsberg and the Pentagon Papers, Freeheld, The Blood of Yingzhou District, No End in Sight, Your Sister’s Sister, Humpday, Compliance and Safety Not Guaranteed.
Gargi was Vice President of Acquisitions and Development for AtomFilms (now AtomEntertainment.com which sold to MTV/Viacom in 2006). She oversaw licensing of all content including short films, animations and digital content as well as the development of original animated and live action series for the web, building a library of over 2,000 titles. Prior to AtomFilms, Gargi was the manager of theatrical marketing for both New Line Cinema and Fox Searchlight Pictures creating campaigns for The Ice Storm, Full Monty, Boogie Nights, and The Wedding Singer to name a few.
Gargi was born and raised in Punjab, India. She currently lives in Seattle, Washington with her husband and two sons.
