Born in Seoul, Korea, raised in New York and Seoul, Danny received his Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts - Radio, TV & Film at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2008, and recently graduated from the Duke MFA in Experimental and Documentary Arts program. He currently resides in Burbank, CA.
Danny's first documentary feature Love Child, as a producer premiered at Sundance and Jeonju International film festival in 2014. He also has extensive background in journalism where he worked at the French News Agency (AFP) in Seoul for more than 3 years covering the entire Korean Peninsula. His MFA thesis film STILL WATERS, a short documentary on the 2014 ferry disaster in S. Korea was completed in March 2018. He is currently working on a short narrative film Canary in a Cole Mine as a Producer / Assistant Director in LA for the 2018 HBO Visionaries competition.
In his free time, Danny enjoys cooking, doing outdoor actives (hiking, biking, etc) and using his movie pass to watch free movies at the local cinema.
