Ilse Fernandez

Producer/ Director / Doc Series Showrunner

Ilse Fernandez has produced and directed over 200 hours of non-fiction docu-series and reality shows for networks including ABC, NBC, VICE, MTV, Netflix, Univision, Discovery Channel, A&E, National Geographic, History Channel, and TLC. Most notably, she worked as a Field Producer and Director on five seasons of the A&E series “Intervention”, including the 2009 "Outstanding Reality Program" Emmy Award winning season. 

Ilse works as a Director/Producer and Showrunner overseeing documentary series that have her signature visual style fused with the highest journalistic integrity and storytelling. She was the Showrunner on Viceland’s the cutting edge 8-part documentary series called “Cyberwar,” that investigated geopolitical digital landscape from NSA whistleblowers to hackers like Anonymous. She both directed and showran Spotify’s first documentary series about locations pivotal in music history called “Music Happens Here.” She also recently produced a concert doc about reggaeton sensation Bad Bunny.

Currently, she is working on her first independent feature documentary "Exodus Stories" about the migrant caravan and challenges asylum seekers face immigrating to the United States.
