Ahlam Said

Impact Producer
Firelight Media

Ahlam Said is the impact producer for Assia Boundaoui's feature documentary, The Feeling of Being Watched, an insider's look at a Muslim American community that suspects it's been under FBI surveillance since the 1990s. Most recently Said served as the digital organizing director for United We Dream, an advocacy group for undocumented immigrants.

Her introduction to community organizing began in 2007 on Chicago's south side through the Inner-City Muslim Action Network where she served as the Communications Manager. Years later she joined organizers from around the country in Phoenix, Arizona in a campaign involving a law known as "show me your papers." It was then she began her work as a digital organizer in electoral and direct action campaigns. She also supported youth during the 2011 uprising in her home country of Yemen. Said is excited to learn new skills that will use film as a catalyst for change in communities of color.
