
INTUITIVE PICTURES is a Montreal-based company dedicated to producing quality documentary and narrative features and interactive projects. We have developed an expertise in international co-production and collaborate with partners worldwide. Veteran producer/executive producer Ina Fichman helms the company. Recent projects include: THE OSLO DIARIES, LAILA AT THE BRIDGE, INSIDE LEHMAN BROTHERS, GIFT, DON'T WORRY, THE DOORS WILL OPEN, STRAY and ONCE UPON A SEA.
For more than twenty-five years, Ina has been producing award-winning documentary and fiction films for television and theatrical release, as well as digital projects. Her documentary credits include BLACK COFFEE, BEING DOROTHY, UNDYING LOVE, SIX DAYS IN JUNE and MALLS R US. She was a producer of the feature film THE FLOOD (MABUL) which screened at the Berlinale, as well as the alternative drama FAMILY MOTEL. She also produced the documentary DEAD SEA LIVING, the film BOREDOM as well as the interactive project and film 100% T-SHIRT. In 2014, Ina completed production on the animated documentary feature THE WANTED 18 directed by Amer Shomali and Paul Cowan and Sturla Gunnarsson’s MONSOON, both of which had their world premieres at TIFF and have been doing the festival circuit. THE WANTED 18 was released in theatres in the US in Summer 2015 and won the Best Documentary Award at the Traverse City Film Festival. THE WANTED 18:an interactive graphic novel is available on ITunes and Google Play.In 2015, Ina completed the feature documentary VITA ACTIVA: The Spirit of Hannah Arendt directed by Ada Ushpiz which had its international premiere at IDFA, won best documentary at the Santa Barbara Film Festival and screened in theatres in the US and Canada.
Intuitive Pictures produced THE OSLO DIARIES (dir. Mor Loushy, Daniel Sivan),a co-production with Medalia Films, Israel) which had its world premiere a Sundance 2018 screened on HBO and was nominated for an Emmy. LAILA AT THE BRIDGE (dir. Elizabeth Mirzaei and Gulistan Mirzaei) premiered at CPH:DOX where it won the F:ACT Award and since then has screened at a number of prestigious festival including Sheffield DocFest, Hot Docs, RIDM and Locarno. Robin McKenna's GIFT screened at FIFA 2018 and released in more than 100 theatres in the US. Ina is currently in production with the feature documentaries THE GIG IS UP, SCIENCE OF SUCCESS and BLUE BOX. We are about to commence production on the feature documentary THE BONES by Jeremy Xido. Our development slate includes FIRE OF LOVE by Sara Dosa, THEFT BY FIRE by Amer Shomali, Helene Klodawsky's STOLEN TIME and UNTITLED FILM ABOUT RUFUS WAINWRIGHT by Stephen Dunn.
Ina is the Chair of the Documentary Association of Canada, a chair of the Documentary Producers Alliance and currently sits on i the board of the Canadian Film and Media Production Association, a national organization that represents over 600 Canadian producers. She is also a member of the Documentary Branch of AMPAS.
