Head of Impact
Level Forward
Participates in 1 Session

I got my start doing human rights advocacy and gender-based violence work with La Casa De Las Madres and Amnesty International. I began recognizing the power media and storytelling had to affect social change, so pursued storytelling as a primary tool to educate and activate people in support of social justice issues. I helped conceptualize ITVS Community Cinema (Indie Lens Pop Up), a national engagement screening program for community action in over 50 U.S. cities. I felt a persistent calling to do more for gender equality and moved to the UK to pursue an MA in Gender & International Development, University of Sussex. I wanted to put my education into action and moved to Nepal where I consulted with UNFPA on social service programs for female ex-combatants in cantonments. Then in Vietnam, I incorporated gender perspectives into community projects with the Spanish Development Agency, Paz Y Desarollo. I returned to the U.S. to run Women and Girls Lead @ ITVS, a multiyear campaign that brought 60 films on women’s and girl’s leadership to 55.1 million Americans (i.e. Pray the Devil Back to Hell, Half the Sky and The Invisible War). I spearheaded high level media projects like Ted Talks on PBS, Class of 27 and Global Symposium on Gender in Media - Mumbai in partnership with Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media. Then began working with scripted projects at Killer Content which evolved into Level Forward, where I am Head of Impact. Level Forward is a new breed entertainment company driving industry and economic transformation through creatively excellent, multi-platform storytelling. We are a story driven/impact minded enterprise, committed to innovation and inclusion throughout all creative and business processes.
