Katy Scoggin is an award-winning documentary filmmaker and cameraperson based in Brooklyn. Her first feature doc, Flood, is entering early post-production. The film is an exploration of loving across divides and orthodoxies that split the filmmaker's family. It has received support from Film Independent, Sundance, Sloan, NYU, IFP, DCTV, BAVC, and MacDowell. Previously, Katy was a co-producer and DP on Laura Poitras's Oscar-winning CITIZENFOUR and on Risk (Cannes Directors Fortnight). She was an AP on The Oath (Sundance 2010) and a producer on NYT OpDocs The Program and Death of a Prisoner. She spent 2016 filming vérité on the US campaign trail for two AJ Schnack's series, NomiNation (IDA Award nom) and Primaries (Fusion/First Look Media). Before making movies, Katy made sculptures out of furniture, iron, and margarine.
