3:15 PM, Tuesday 25 Sep 2018 (1 hour 30 minutes)
Film L.A. - Meeting Room
Join us for a brass tacks conversation about the importance of a great film score, and the realities of what it takes to get one. Shared from the perspectives of a composer, music supervisor, picture editor and director, this is about how music works with picture, and the nuts and bolts of what to expect when putting music in your film. What are all the key parts of the process, and why are they important? What are all the different costs, and where should one spend or cut back? How does an original score compare to licensing or a hybrid score? What rights does one really need? The goal of this panel is to discuss the real business and creative issues facing filmmakers, and give them the tools to work with music confidently and effectively.
