Therapeutic Interventions in Documentary Experiential Workshop

Filmmaker Only
9:45 AM, Thursday 27 Sep 2018 (1 hour 30 minutes)
Film L.A. - Meeting Room

Have you ever had to weigh the passion and integrity you hold for your documentary making against your own emotional and financial stability, asking yourself, will it all be worth it in the end?

In a follow-up from the public panel on therapeutic interventions in documentary, this private/confidential workshop will delve deeper into the many issues we face in our filmmaking relationships. Through empathic exploration, we will look at the establishment of the working relationship, what it means to film in traumatic situations or with people who are at risk, and to what extent this leaves us open to our own vulnerability as filmmakers. The group will be person-led, shaped by the needs of the attendees but communication and vulnerability will be at the core of the work. Facilitated and supported by producer and psychotherapist, Rebecca Day under the conditions most commonly used within therapeutic encounters.

Thank you for your interest in this experiential workshop.
We ask you to tell us in 150 words or less why you want to participate. Submit here
