This lively debate, moderated by veteran documentary filmmaker Marco Williams, himself a film school graduate, and whose career as a film professor spans five different film programs (NYU, Northwestern, NCSA, Duke, UNC-Chapel Hill), engages successful documentary professionals who have and have not taken the film school route. The panel will interrogate: What is the value of a film school education? What does one gain or lose by not attending film school? If there are benefits to going to film school, how do you determine the best school option? What is it like to be a non-traditional student in a traditional school environment?
