Leo Chiang

S. LEO CHIANG is a documentarian based in San Francisco and Taipei. A VILLAGE CALLED VERSAILLES, his Emmy-nominated film about the transformation of the Vietnamese American community in post-Katrina New Orleans, picked up eight film festival awards and aired on PBS series Independent Lens. His other documentaries include OUT RUN (Full Frame Documentary Film Festival & Sheffield Doc/Fest 2016), MR. CAO GOES TO WASHINGTON (Inspiration Award, Full Frame 2012) and TO YOU SWEETHEART, ALOHA (PBS broadcast 2006).

Leo received his MFA in film production from University of Southern California. He is currently the co-chair of New Day Films, the 45-year-old co-operative of social-issue documentarians. He is also a consulting producer and trainer for CNEX, the Chinese documentary foundation and pitching forum.
