Stephanie Andreou

Stephanie is a Cypriot-British filmmaker whose films often explore politics, survival and zombie late capitalism. Born in London and raised in Cyprus, she gained her BA in Fine Art with a focus in video art and sculpture in the U.K. before crossing the pond to receive an MFA in Computer Art from the School of Visual Arts in 2012. She has worked as an editor for ten years on award winning documentaries that have screened at Sundance, True/False, Tribeca, Full Frame, New York Film Festival and IFFR. She has been awarded fellowships and grants from: UnionDocs, the Gotham, New York State Council for the Arts, Karen Schmeer Film Editing, Sundance, True/False Film Festival and Catapult Film Fund Rough Cut Retreat. She's currently developing her first feature documentary, Freedom is a Place, which has been supported by the New York State Council for the Arts and Sundance. She organizes with and for Brown Girls Doc Mafia (BGDM) and is a board member for the Alliance of Documentary Editors (ADE).
