Michele Spitz of Woman of Her Word is a voiceover artist, public speaker, and philanthropist most passionate about advocating for media accessibility and disability awareness, selectively funding audio/video description post production accessibility grants. Michele has 7 years experience of producing, narrating, consulting, and project managing audio description assets for film, broadcast, digital media, film festivals, museums, educational content and non-profit fundraising media. She has personally funded 80% of the 70 hand selected media projects with which she has chosen to be aligned. Woman of Her Word promotes media accessibility awareness through ongoing public speaking, thought provoking panels and educational settings. Michele was the first to initiate and fund BAFTA scholarships for graduate film students with disabilities, as well as initiate and fund annual film media accessibility grants for NYWIFT and WIF LA. Michele is unique in that she works very closely with every client to ensure that the highest quality AD asset is delivered and implemented on all distribution platforms for the life of the film. For the past 7 years, Michele has traveled extensively between SF, LA, and NYC to ascertain and merge together East and West Coast media and cultural arts accessibility philosophies and methodologies and will continue to expand her research with travel to the UK in 2021.
