Jeff Reichert is an award-winning filmmaker, critic and distributor living in Brooklyn. Hi first feature film, Gerrymandering, premiered at the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival where it was named one of the best of the festival by New York Magazine. The film was released theatrically in Fall of 2010 and was used as the centerpiece in several successful redistricting reform campaigns. His second feature film, Remote Area Medical, had its world premiere at the 2013 Full Frame Documentary Film Festival and has won numerous awards and screened at festivals across the U.S. It was released by CInedigm in Fall of 2014. His short, Kombit, premiered at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival, and his third feature, This Time Next Year premiered at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival and is currently available from The Orchard.
He is the co-editor and co-founder of the popular online journal Reverse Shot, the NEA-funded publication of Musing of the Moving Image in Queens, NY. His writing on film has appeared in Reverse Shot, Indiewire, The Talkhouse, Filmmaker Magazine, American Spectator and Film Comment along with other books and publications.
