Kane helped transform the way global documentaries are seen on US television.  She created DOCday on Sundance Channel in 2002 and shepherded over 150 international and U.S. co-productions for public media at ITVS. In 2013, she helped launch Al Jazeera America and the Sunday night documentary strand, Al Jazeera America Presents with series (Kartemquin’s Hard Earned with director Maria Finitzo and others, winner 2016 Alfred I. DuPont-Columbia Awards) and documentaries (Albert Maysles’ final work, In Transit, Leon Gast’s Sporting Dreams, Barbara Kopple’s Shelter, Jennifer Maytorena Taylor’s Daisy and Max, Michelle Shephard and Patrick Reed’s Guantanamo’s Child, Marc Levin’s Freeway: Crack in the System, the last two nominated for Emmy’s - and many others.) 

With her UK partners at gbgg productions and Les Film de l’Après Midi in France, Kane executive-produced, New Eyes by Hiwot Admasu Getaneh (Venice, TIFF, Rotterdam.)  Kane joined forces with former NYC Film Commissioner Cynthia Lopez as creative consultants for Zeva Oelbaum and Sabine Krayenbuehl's Letters from Baghdad about the extraordinary life and times of Gertrude Bell. She co-produced Kim Snyder and Maria Cuomo Cole's Lessons From a School Shooting: Notes From Dunblane that won Best SHort Documentary at Tribeca FF 2018 and Sheffield's DocDispatch Award. 

She works as a writer and creative consultant and occasionally produces.  She's associated with gbgg, Women Make Movies, East Village Entertainment, Union Docs and KA Snyder Productions.
