15:00, mercredi 28 sept. 2016 (1 heure 15 minutes)
Pickford Center for Motion Picture Study - Linwood Dunn Theater
Filmmakers have long battled with censors to get their work in cinemas and on TV uncut. But the last decade has seen widespread reductions in freedom of expression, with many countries becoming increasingly conservative and repressive. The panel looks at the political and the creative challenges of documentary-making under state censorship and self-censorship. How have filmmakers in China, Turkey and Indonesia managed these pressures during production and distribution? How do artists find creative and courageous ways to share their truths with audiences at home and abroad? Produced by Zeynep Güzel - New Film Fund - (Turkey).
