I developed a passion for science as a child largely due to a love of science fiction such as Dr Who and Star Wars, and have been attending conventions since the 1995 Worldcon in Glasgow.
I have also always enjoyed acting, doing LAMDA exams and studying A-level Theatre Studies alongside Physics, Maths and Chemistry, after which I did an MPhys in Physics with Astrophysics, then a PhD in Cosmology.
Being a science presenter allows me to combine my passion for science with my love of being on stage. I now deliver science shows, lectures and workshops at schools, science festivals and other events both across the UK and internationally, bringing science to a wide audience in an engaging, entertaining and inspiring way.
I currently work predomenantly for the Royal Institution, presenting their Science in Schools programme, and will be presenting a modified Community Show - including plenty of explosions! - as part of the Eastercon opening ceremony. I'm also involved with Lazlar Lyricon 3 - a fun, friendly Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy convention, 9-11 June 2017.
