The increase in Big Data, technological advancements in computing, and the costs of materials have all led to us to artificial intelligence being part of the everyday. That is, of course, assuming we accept driverless cars and similar tech as AI. Even if we do, we cannot fail to accept that they are solutions for specific problems. How are scientists progressing with general AI, the ability to function and learn autonomously? Is it around the corner or still not imaginable in our lifetimes?
