It is a truth universally acknowledged that plays are more financially likely to succeed in the West End and Broadway if they include famous actors. Those actors are more likely to be successful if associated with fandom, whether they are from Doctor Who, the MCU or X-Files. Add to this the record-breaking success of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and the cross-generational and cross-fandom support gleaned by Hamilton and a clear pattern emerges. There is a massive intersection between theatre fans and fandom. We discuss this phenomena and explore plays occuring at the moment or in the near future that may interest our community.
