Jill completed her Master's at the Institute of Resources, Environment and Sustainability at the UBC with a focus on sustainable food systems. Her thesis project examined incentives and barriers to farmers' decisions to transition to agroecology and organic agriculture within a progressive public procurement program in Santa Catarina, Brazil. Additional projects included research on the potential impact of the Trans Pacific Partnership on Canadian food sovereignty, the role of bi- and tri-lateral trade agreements on food security and analyzing dietary scenarios for establishing indigenous food sovereignty within the 'Namgis First NationJill currently works as the Research and Special Projects Coordinator at the Canada Organic Trade Association and is on the Research Advisory Group of Food Secure Canada's Sustainable Consumption for All project.
