Monica Dantas is an interdisciplinary Ph.D. candidate at Concordia University Individualized Program passionate about food and currently researching the political, socio-economic footprints of global food systems, social and solidarity economy, community development, sustainable agriculture especially in the global south and Brazil. She is presently engaged in community initiatives such as Transition NDG and Season Jars, which is a Concordia Food Coalition working group dedicated to community-based education using food as a platform for community building, food security, inter-generational and intercultural learning.
