Given young and new farmers’ barriers to accessing land, we need to find alternative models of farmland tenure. We also want to ensure the wellbeing of retiring farmers, build vibrant rural communities, and work towards food sovereignty. This interactive session focus primarily on exchanging experiences with alternative land ownership, access, and succession models in Scotland and across Canada. Participants who attend will be invited to share best practices, issues/processes to avoid and key challenges.
