Dr Bec Handcock will present a slide-show on her experiences as part of the largest ever expedition of women to Antarctica at the end of 2019 (there will be lots of photos of penguins!). The voyage was part of “Homeward Bound”, a leadership program for women in STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine). The program aims to heighten the influence and impact of women in making decisions that shape our planet. Bec is a geographer and data scientist, whose research ranges from remote sensing of agriculture and water to health and bibliometrics
