Launched in 2013, Geothink is an interdisciplinary research partnership exploring the impacts of increasing two-way exchanges of locational information between citizens and their city governments. Now in the fourth year of a five-year, $6.5 million partnership grant from the Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada, Geothink involves 27 partners, 26 researchers, and over 100 students.

Our researchers gain on-the ground experience and insights from practitioners. This allows us to create high quality research that is targeted to have real impacts on city governance. Through cutting-edge investigations of the geospatial web, open data, crowdsourcing, and citizen science, the partnership has developed best practices, authored white papers, published academic journal articles, and created civic apps.

Grenadine Event Planner is a professional, hosted software solution that helps you plan and organize your conferences, conventions and events. You can use our event planning tools to keep track of your speakers, your participants and also plan out your schedule, including who needs to be where, what equipment they need, and with whom they will be speaking or performing. You can register people for you whole event, and also take registrations for in-event, space-limited items.

During your event, offer the Grenadine event guide mobile applications to your attendees (available for iOS and Android phones) so that they can have your full schedule information as well as speaker lists and other essential information in their pocket. You can also publish your full schedules on a Grenadine instant event web site, complete with speaker profiles, attendee profiles and self-serve for item sign ups.

The Social Sciences Research Laboratories, or SSRL, provides access to specialized research infrastructure (computers, equipment and software) and research space (specific and multi-purpose). Additionally, the SSRL provides access to research supports in the form of specialists with backgrounds and training in specific social science research methods (quantitative and survey research; qualitative research; experimental research; GIS and cartography; social network analysis).

The SSRL currently consists of eight research laboratories:

Community-Based Observation Laboratory

Experimental Decision Laboratory

EEG Hyperscanning Laboratory

Qualitative Research Laboratory

Spatial Analysis For Innovation in Health Research Laboratory

Survey and Group Analysis Laboratory

Social Network Laboratory

Video Therapy Analysis Laboratory
